Cooper Saunders is one of our newest team members who began working at IRG in May 2021. Although he had no experience in the roofing industry, he was looking to get into the construction business and has proven himself to be a dedicated, responsible, and reliable worker who works hard every day and learns new skills with ease.  We are lucky Cooper gave up his previous job as an airport shuttle driver to work as a laborer in the Production Department at Innovative Roofing Group.

Describe your role at Innovative Roofing Group?

I am a member of the Production crew, so I work on installing new roofs on existing buildings and roofs on new construction sites.  I am also one of the production crew truck drivers.

What do you like most about your job?

I like that there are so many great people working at IRG.  I also enjoy getting the opportunity to work alongside all the men and women on my crew every day.

What is your favorite memory of working at Innovative Roofing Group?

My favorite memory would have to be the first time I walked onto the job site at 1105 W. Peachtree, which is a large Selig mixed-use development project currently under construction in Midtown Atlanta that will be home to Google offices, a hotel, and luxury condos.  I had never been on a new construction site before and certainly not one of that scale.  It was a completely new experience. It was one of my first days on the job, and we just mopped water off the roof but having the opportunity to work on a building of that size in the middle of the city was an incredible experience. Opportunities like that are what drew me into the construction industry in the first place.

Tell us about your family.

I am fortunate because I have a great Mom, Dad, and Sister.  I am also close with my grandparents.

What do you like to do in your spare time or on your days off?

I love movies. I also like to hang out with my friends and family.
