Andrew Hoover joined the Innovative Roofing Group in 2018 as the company Controller. Under Andy’s leadership, the company has streamlined processes and improved financial reporting all while supporting record business performance and growth.
How did you get into the Roofing industry?
I entered the roofing industry when I joined IRG, 2 ½ years ago. I’ve always been in finance roles and my last position was with a high-end carpet manufacturer called Britons. I really like to work in a company delivering a product of high value to its clients. I was excited to join Innovative because I could see they were building something special and durable.
Describe your role at Innovative Roofing Group?
My primary duty is to ensure the accuracy and timely reporting of the company financials. I also partner with our owner and senior team members on planning and budgeting.
What do you like most about your job?
The workload independence. For the most part, I have the luxury to determine what needs to get done and when. If I don’t feel like doing a particular task such as entering invoices, I can push it off a day or two and work on something else. I can create my own change of pace. I also really enjoy the daily interaction with IRG employees.
What is your favorite memory of working at Innovative Roofing Group?
Favorite memory at IRG has to be last year’s IRG Holiday party at Top Golf. We had a great time together and were all entertained by the awesome comical commentary provided by the impromptu M.C. of the night, Kevin Austin from our Service Division. It was a night to remember!
Tell us about your family?
I am so lucky to have been married for 16 years to my beautiful wife Debbie. We have 3 girls Elie, 7 Emily 5, and Natalie 4.
What do you do in your spare time?
I enjoy reading and watching movies but for the last several years, my girls consume most of my free time. Originally being from North East Ohio, I follow Cleveland sports teams particularly the Browns. I also follow the Green Bay Packers.
