Ivan Martinez Ortiz joined the Innovative Roofing Group in July 2008 as a Laborer. In the thirteen years since joining IRG, Ivan has developed himself and his roofing skills and now serves as a Project Foreman within our large Service Department. Ivan is our most requested Foreman by customers because of his skills as a roofer and communicator. We are so fortunate and grateful that Ivan chooses to pursue his career with Innovative Roofing Group.
How did you get into the Roofing industry?
Before taking the position at IRG, I worked for my own company. It was my brother-in-law, who was already a roofer and IRG team member, that convinced me to join Innovative Roofing Group.
Describe your role at Innovative Roofing Group?
My role varies from day to day and that’s the way I like it. One day my helper and I are chasing leaks after a storm. The next day, I may be performing roof inspections and take-offs. And the next, I may be leading a “sprint crew” on an extensive quoted repair project. It never gets boring!
What do you like most about your job?
After thirteen years in the roofing industry and at IRG, I enjoy that I am still seeing new things and learning. The work is physically demanding, for sure, but I like that I also get to use my brain, to diagnose and fix complicated building performance issues.
What is your favorite memory of working at Innovative Roofing Group?
When I was selected as the Company’s Employee of the Year in 2016!

We are a serious company and we always do what is best for our customers.
Tell us about your family?
I have a beautiful wife and three amazing daughters.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I like to work in my yard and play with my kids.
