José Gonzales joined the Innovative Roofing Group in 2015 as a Foreman of a Roofing Production Crew. He is reliable, hard-working, skilled and a leader his crew members are proud to follow. We asked José a few questions to help our customers get to know him a little better.
How did you get into the Roofing industry?
I started in the Roofing Industry in 2006. My dad convinced my it would be a good career. I’ve stuck with it ever since and have risen to the position of Foreman.
Describe your role at Innovative Roofing Group?
As one of several Production Crew Foremen at Innovative Roofing Group, I am the on-site leader of a crew of 8-12 roofers and laborers responsible for the safe execution of the awarded scope of work.
What do you like most about your job?
I really enjoy the complexity and variety of our work. While most of our projects are reroofing, each is different due to a long list of factors like how the building is used, the roof access, the roof deck construction, the existing roofing material and its condition, the material specifications for the new roof, etc. This makes every day on the job interesting and challenging. It’s a great feeling finishing a project and having helped our client through our workmanship.
What is your favorite memory of working at Innovative Roofing Group?
My favorite memory is when I was honored as the IRG Production Employee of the Year in 2018.
Tell us about your family?
I have the best family! I’m blessed with a supportive wife with whom I have three beautiful boys; Victor (16), Anthony (9) and Benjamin (3).
Do you have any hobbies?
I enjoy fishing, especially out on the lake with my boys. Oh yea, and tipping back a few beers.
What is your favorite sports team?
I like watching all sports but particularly the NFL where my team is the Atlanta Falcons.
