Innovative Roofing Group was selected to perform the tear-off of the 30-year old smooth surface built-up roof that was fully saturated at the Forest park retail institution. It was discovered during tear-off on the 4 buildings totaling more than 2000 squares that the lightweight concrete and metal decking had deteriorated in many spots due to exposure to entrapped moisture. That decking was repaired or replaced by IRG to ensure a suitable surface for the reroofing. IRG then installed a mechanically attached 60mil TPO membrane over 3.5” of polyisocyanurate (ISO) insulation and all new edge metal resulting in a Georgia Energy Code compliant R20 roof assembly.
